There is something about gingham that screams ‘girly chic’ It’s everywhere, in skirts, Bardot tops, trousers and dresses. Blue, red, yellow and black are all colours that I’ve seen on the high street. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not for everyone, and believe me I have walked away from loads of dresses that I absolutely love, but just didn’t look right on me. I tried the famous Topshop gingham skirt on, but again this wasn’t the right shape for me.

The gingham ruffle skirt above is from M&S and is such a flattering shape (for me) it’s a pencil fit with a high waist and just skims my curves in the right places.

In this look, I’ve paired my gingham gorgeousness with a plain black tee from HM £6.99  http://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0464363001.html#Black

The black block heeled shoes dress up the skirt and are available through Aldo for £50 https://www.aldoshoes.com/uk/en_UK/Brookshear-Black/p/51145656-98

…and to finish the outfit off, the Chanel of course. My absolute favourite bag that just goes with any outfit.

To dress the skirt down, pop on some white trainers for a more casual look, a great daytime alternative. White trainers from Mango £29.99  http://shop.mango.com/GB/p0/woman/accessories/shoes/sneakers/contrast-applique-sneakers?id=13050435_01&n=1&s=accesorios.zapatos

Overall a great skirt for dressing up or down.

Have a lovely evening, Joanna x
