My favourite footwear is a pair of trainers. I own lots of heels and sandals, but when it comes down to it, I always reach for the most comfy if I can. Now that wearing trainers with dresses and skirts is fashionable, you can have that smart girly look, but with the comfort too. I absolutely love converse they are one of my favourites, the fit, the style and the choice of colours and fabrics are great (latest converse below)

I always feel great when I find a little gem when out shopping, and when I saw this M&S mirror embroidered skater skirt I was delighted. It’s a boho style skirt with a wide waistband. It sits just on the knee, and you can sit the skirt on your hips or waist it looks good both ways, depending on what length you prefer. I would wear this on holiday with a vest top and flat sandals, or over your bikini at the beach. I’m showing you it dressed up a bit with some mid heels. I was in London at a couple of events last Thursday, and the hubby was taking me to The Ivy for dinner, so I was on the hunt for a really nice top to wear with my smart black trousers. I do struggle sometimes to find nice tops to wear for a night out, so thought I would do a little search to see if there was any tops that just had that wow factor.

This is the gorgeous Topshop top I wore to one of the events, and I got asked where it was from so many times. I think its the colour of the print, its so vibrant and the frills are really pretty. I really love a denim skirt, and this one from H&M is so flattering, especially if your curvy like me. It is cut just on the knee, but with a split at the front so you get that extra little flash of leg. Its a pale denim with fraying on the bottom. It comes up a little small so I sized up, which isn’t suprising from H&M. Its such a versatile skirt that can be worn lots of different ways. This was from a look the other day when I wore my baby blue gingham top and white trainers for a more casual look. The trainers are from Mango but they don’t appear to have them on their website, but any white pump or converse would look good. The gingham top is still available in your local Primark store.

Ok, I have a problem with shoes, and chocolate, and champagne.. but what great problems to have! I’m yet to meet a woman who doesn’t love to buy shoes, and when I’m having one of those days where I’m not feeling great in clothes, shoes always cheer me up, because they fit no matter what!

I remember getting my first pair of Christian Louboutins (Pigalle 100 in patent black) in Paris and how exciting the whole experience was. They literally made me feel like a million dollars. They instantly gave me a slimmer elongated leg, (which I don’t have) and even though they weren’t the most comfortable heels to put on my feet, (may need to sit down a lot whilst looking hot) I just had to have these shoes in my life. They literally go with everything you put on.

Its coming up to holiday season and I know I’m not the only one that dreads getting a bikini on! I think we tend to beat ourselves up a bit about how we are meant to look (for other people) I’m becoming more confident the older I get. I think you need to be happy with the way you are, not everyone has the same body shape and I’m so guilty of comparing myself to taller, thinner women, but that’s just not me, I’m curvy, and if you are comfortable with that then you start to ooze confidence and feel great.

So now I’ve hit my forties I have to think very carefully about the swimwear that I buy. I’m not going to stop wearing bikinis just because I’m 40, I still have a good figure! I love a good bikini, and if worn with the right accessories you can look great. I do love a good swimsuit too, but they just seem to make me look (dumpy) if that’s a word?

I need a bikini top that is built like a bra, it needs wires and support and the cup size needs to be full. The bikini bottoms need to be flattering and if they have a fold over detail (to cover the tummy) that’s even better. The bikini above is from Fantasie Swimwear and this style is the Masai Mara collection, they also have a lovely selection of matching beachwear. Finally I was able to get a pretty top on today and not feel freezing cold! I have so many spring/summer tops that have just been hanging in my wardrobe waiting for this awful weather to pass.

It had to be this floaty chiffon number from Zara today. The print is so pretty, it has a pink, blue and purple flower print all over with flared sleeves that stop just below the elbow. Lets talk about the purple sunnies! I do love a good pair of sunglasses, and I have some lovely Gucci and Coach ones, but Primark are great for fashion sunglasses and at £2 you cant go wrong. You could buy a pair in every colour at that price! Purple, pink or blue and a choice of gold and silver too. I’m always scratching or loosing sunglasses on holiday so I always like to take a couple of cheap pairs to wear at the pool and the beach. https://www.primark.com/en/homepage

I wanted to post this today as I feel like we need to see more dresses to keep us excited for the good weather that we are hopefully going to get!!! Seriously, there has been snow, hail, wind and rain all in the past two days, come on spring where are you??

I fell in love with this Topshop dress as soon as I tried it on. I actually didn’t buy it first time round, I put it back on the rail and walked out the shop. I went for a coffee and had a look around for other maxi dresses, but nothing came close to this one. I couldn’t stop thinking about it so I had to go back and buy it. I always say to myself, ‘if you cant stop thinking about it, buy it’.

The fit is so flattering the way it falls over your curves, and the material is so lovely. There are also frills, a split at the front and a pretty tie-up detail at the back of the dress.

The ring/tie-up detail at the back means you can adjust the size over the bust a bit which is good for us ladies with a larger cup size. This would also make a great dress for a christening or a wedding.

It fits where it should fit, I have curves and I loved the way it showed them off..
